Acoustics

In our Semi Anechoic Room the acoustic measurements in free space conditions can be simulated to perform the measurements according the standards NEN-EN-ISO 3744, ISO 9296 & NEN-EN-ISO7779.

A reflection surface must be defined in accordance with the actuel usage (floorstanding, against a wall, etc.). Based on this and the EUT’s dimensions, a reference box is defined. Now it is possible to select a sphere around the EUT and measure its average sound pressure level (SPL) over this surface.

The EUT is placed on a special table that is positioned on a turntable. The acoustic sensor is placed at several positions alongside and above the EUT, as stated in the standards. At several positions of the turntable the measurement data is recorded. Later on, these data is processed in order to present the data in a form that is required. Isolated frequencies and other positions can be seperately examined on request.

The result of these measurements can be:
  • A polar plot at specific frequencies
  • Frequency plots
  • Sound pressure levels
All of these can be recorded at different operating modes of the EUT.
